PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY
This was my first microsite design at General Assembly.*E-commerce retailer Mountain High Outfitters is looking to design a microsite that is focused on very specific users (provided personas) with 75-100 highly curated products from their inventory. My job is to work with the information architecture and interface design to produce a site that is easily navigable by the user and conveys the brand’s image.
PROMPT
As the UX designer heading the new initiative I will be designing a clickable prototype around an online shopping experience. My design should meet the goals of the user (represented by the given persona), the goals of the business, and the goals of the brand. My provided designs have been tested by users and follow IA heuristic best practices to the best of my ability.
GOALS
• Demonstrate my understanding of the UX design process
• Demonstrate my understanding of heuristic best practices
• Demonstrate my ability to create a clickable prototype
• Demonstrate my ability to iterate your designs based on testing
• Demonstrate my ability to communicate your research and design concept to a business team
• Demonstrate planning and time management skills while working independently. I will have to make tactful decisions about which activities will provide the best return given very real-time constraints.
EVALUATION
My project will be evaluated in the following areas:
• User research & synthesis
• Strategy
• Execution
• Delivery
• Collaboration
DELIVERABLES
• Competitive and comparative analyses
• Sitemap
